Colombia 1-2 Croatia: Matanovic completes first-half comeback
Croatia had to overcome a very early setback to earn a friendly victory over Colombia, with Igor Matanovic netting the all-important winner.
Igor Matanovic completed the turnaround for Croatia as they earned a 2-1 friendly win over Colombia at Camping World Stadium.
Jhon Arias had given Nestor Lorenzo's side a very early lead, but Croatia came from behind to secure their victory before the first half was over.
Colombia were ahead inside two minutes as Jhon Lucumi's cross was diverted to Arias by Luis Suarez, and the winger made no mistake with the finish.
But just four minutes later, Croatia were back on level terms as Luka Vuskovic took a chance from distance and a slight deflection off Lucumi, which wrongfooted Camilo Vargas.
Colombia pushed to retake their lead, with Suarez missing a couple of key opportunities before Matanovic powered home a header from a Marco Pasalic corner to flip the script.
Petar Musa struck the crossbar twice in the second half, but neither side was able to find another goal in a tightly fought contest in Orlando.
Elsewhere, Chile had to come from behind to beat 10-man Cape Verde 4-2, with three second-half goals overturning the deficit after Sidny Cabral had struck following Diney Borges' red card.
Meanwhile, Finland edged to a 2-0 victory over New Zealand at Eden Park, with the hosts struggling to muster up much of a goal threat around Joel Pohjanpalo and Jaakko Oksanen hitting the back of the net.
Data Debrief: Croatia find clinical edge
It was far from a vintage performance in front of goal from Croatia, but they made their shots on target count, converting two of the three they had.
They ended the match with fewer shots (12 to Colombia's 13), with the South American side also having more attempts on target (five), though Musa will feel he could have done better with his two efforts, hitting the woodwork with both.
Vuskovic, meanwhile, scored with his only shot of the match, netting his first goal for his national team.
